45 Hours into Hogwarts Legacy still going strong

Hey Readers,

Let’s be real most articles coming out say that the main story is roughly 20 hours and most regular players are about 30-35 hours.

I am 45 hours in as of my last save and just now about to finish the main story. I have my list of things to still do. Such as finding all Shiney Magical Beasts, finishing landing platforms and my field guide as a whole.

I’ll admit I find the start of the game the most exciting. Getting your house sorted, finding your wand and the dueling club just a total blast.

It is nice that the game as you continue your story opens up for more freedom and what you can do with your free time between quests and classes but at times I struggle wanting to do the platforms, or the ancient wells of power.  I would rather find another class to do as a side quest, not just left to find something to do on my own

It’s an odd complaint for sure. I think it is just that too much of an open world can, for me as a gamer, be super overwhelming.

What makes a RPG just that and not a Visual Novel

Hello Fellow Readers!

So I have been thinking about what makes a game a visual novel. I ask this because I have been thinking couldn’t any RPG be considered a visual novel? According to Wikipedia a visual novel is as follows, “A visual novel (Japanese: ビジュアルノベル, Hepburnbijuaru noberu), often abbreviated as VN, is an interactive fiction video game genre,[1][2] featuring text-based story with narrative style of literature and interactivity aided by static or sprite-based visuals, most often using anime-style art or occasionally live-action stills (and sometimes video footage).[3] As the name suggests, they resemble mixed-media novels.” I will post the wiki article here for you all to to review.

So all that being said I guess that would answer the question of why not all RPG’s can be seen as visual novels however that does not mean we can’t say other games and RPG’s are fun. Such as KOTOR, DRAGON AGE, others are amazing games in their own right. After all we can romance our friends in those games as well just like a good Otome game. If we took out the models and added the sprites any good RPG could be turned into a VN. How cool would that be?

Missing Criminal Desire should be a crime :)

Pardon the corny title but it is true. The phone game Criminal Desires by Genuis yaoi studio’s is thus far pretty great.

Yes its a phone game, yes there are micro transactions to be able to get to say the thing that will make your possible crush fall for you faster. However, the writing didn’t make me feel like i was doomed choosing another option.

You play a cop and from what i gather your two main crushes are your partner (great play on words there) Rob and the not so criminal criminal Christopher. Both well drawn both strikingly handsome and i am excited to learn more of their story as it continues.

There is also your boss Clint who i wouldn’t mind getting to know as well. He seems like a good guy but something tells me there are a few things he is hiding in his closet he doesn’t want others to know. Namely the MC.

I am only a few episodes in but this game has a lot of promise and who doesn’t love some man on man cop drama. They even bring their own cuffs to the bedroom lol.

I am most interested in this stories crime family you are investigating. Are they as wonderful as they seem or not so much. Furthermore does Christopher remember meeting you as a cop or are you in the clear. So many questions i want to dive back in.

What does everyone else think? Have you all played this or possibly played another game i don’t know. Lets check it out together send me a shout.

Also don’t forget to follow me on twitch now as well and come say Hi. I love making friends and talk gaming. http://www.twitch.tv/otomebro

Spending my recovery with a Count

Hey Friends,

So the Count of Saint Germain has been keeping me company while I recover from a small surgery. We’ve been walking around the London of Code Realize: Gaurdian of Rebirth and he has been showing me all the differences of a steam city of the 19th Century. Now it will be interesting to see how the game plays out this myth of a man. Will I know why he regularly prays will i end up being the one of the reasons why he smiles? He is not an easy read.

The count up to this point of Code Realize seems to just be along for the fun of it. He is not a master thief like Lupin, or Vampire hunter like Van Hellsing, or tinker with machines like Impey or master chemist like Victor. He in the plan of a heist would be the money haha.

Saint Germain is allowing us all to stay at his country estate simply because it tickles his fancy. The only reason he knows of Lupin and Impey at the start of the game is because he ran into them and insisted to take part in their plan not because he was actually recruited. I find this interesting from a story standpoint because it is a lingering question of why?

I will be interested in seeing how the MC and the Count relationship evovles as the stories continue. He has been great company while i recover. Now we are off to rob a train talk later. 🙂

Holy Crap my FWB was Ignis from Cafe Enchante lol

Hey friends,

I hope all is well with you all! So I am finishing up my routes of Cafe Enchante and realized that Ignis is so much like a FWB I used to have. Now don’t get me wrong they are different to a degree but they check a lot of the same boxes.

Ignis:

Male

White as wonderbread

Can play sports

loves to cook

loves dogs

Werewolf type characteristic

Always hungry

Good Fighter

FWB:

Male

White as wonderbread

Plays sports

Was awesome in the kitchen

Loved dogs and owned a dog.

Loved Wolves.

Knew how to fight

Always hungry

Maybe I am reading to much into it but it made me chuckle and I’ll admit happy memories came up. However it was strange to see. Has this happened to anyone else?

Playing in some Extracurricular Activities for the first time in my life

Hello Friends! 🙂 For the first time ever in my life I am doing some Extra Curricular Activates with some hot men. This is also due to playing the dating sim of the same name Extra Curricular Activities. This LGBT furry gay game is super cute and set in college.

You are playing as a college human tennis player among some furry teammates. The art style is great my only issue with the art design is with the design of the MC you play. I feel like he looks like a middle aged man not a college athlete. Maybe its just me though.

Presently I am playing the route of Spencer your adorable best friend from before college and it is a great story with some fantastic dialog and great art. Put on top of that Spencer has some secrets of his own while he is going through college you find out along the way. He is the bestest boy who also happens to be a husky haha. He may be Spencer in the story but to me he is White Thunder 🙂

I am excited to see the rest of the story of Spencer play out along with the rest of the routes the game has including the teams Tennis coach. The team who did this clearly has a lot of love and care into the game and highly recommend everyone give it a go.

Just finished Adastra and OMG just WOW! :)

Hello friends! Happy Thursday. Let me just say wow. I finished Adastra and loved the ending. Yes I know the second is in progress and I will be playing that with time but WOW the feels. Still even with ending it had the story wrapped up nicely and I am excited to see what the future holds for the series.

For all my furry lovers and for all my friends in the LGBTQ Community I highly recommend this visual novel to be added to your collection and I am excited to see what the team at Echo Project has in the works.

Also I will also say the art style is also great and I have to tip my hat to Haps the lead artist for Adastra. It was an art style that felt new and fresh and the expressions of the characters absolutely matched the mood of the scene wonderfully well I felt as if I was in the world. When a character smirked on screen I couldn’t help but smirk as well.

Let me also say the writing was great Amicus and the growing relationship with the main character was a wonderful change of pace from the norm of just flat out randomly falling in love at first sight. You grow to love Amicus, and Amicus to you. I never wanted to feel a fluffy emperor then I did with him. When the end of the game comes I never wanted to stop feeling then I did in those last few moments.

Again though I am stoked to see the team continue this story but I also loved the MC. You are not some random helpless baby and you make that perfectly clear early on but no spoilers don’t worry.

Over all a truly masterpiece of a game all furry and LGBT people should give a whirl.

The Furries are invading…and it’s the best thing ever! :)

Hello my wonderful friends! So recently I have found two new visual novel games I am loving and not wanting to end. They are both LGBTQ furry games. The first is Adastra and the second is Nekojishi. I highly recommend both if you have not played them. Again though, I am probably late to the party and I am sure a lot of people have played them.

Both have great art styles but are different and fun in their own way. Also the setting is different for both which I find cool. Do I want to visit another planet I can do that with Adastra; or do I want to go to Taiwan then Nekojishi is what I want to dive into first. Regardless of which you choose first you cannot go wrong.

Another difference is that Adastra has only one romance option where as Nekojishi has three possible love interest you can go down the path with and also a true ending so there is a fair bit of re-playability there like a normal Otome game.

I cam for the gay relationships but I stayed for the hot furry bodies haha 🙂

Otome games and how they helped me with my mental health and relationships

Happy Monday friends! I got hit yesterday evening with a thought. Otome games have done wonders for me in regards to my mental health when it comes to relationships.

To be clear I have also gone to therapy off and on starting in college and have found it extremely helpful and recommend it for everyone young or old.

With Otome games even though I am clearly playing a girl I noticed it has allowed me to be okay with a few things. 1. Waiting for the right guy and 2. Being happy with who I am and learning to love myself flaws and all and lastly 3. Growing from my horrid internet dating site experience’s.

So to start with I am finally okay waiting for the right guy. Now I am not expecting a hot guy to come knocking to my door during a global pandemic but playing these games makes me realize the right guy is worth the wait but that doesn’t mean that I am going to sit on my butt I need to get out there and get out of my comfort zone.

Every start of most Otome games I am playing right now the main character comes in missing something be it confidence, lost on the direction they need to take in life or even a family member for better answers. The men in the games are part of the story but aren’t used to lift them up but support the main characters growth. That is wonderful to see.

This helped me realize two things. Number one I need to focus on me and not try to find people to make me better I need to make me better. Two, The right guy will be there when I learn to better love myself. I know, I know it should be a no duh moment but still happy I got there.

Lastly, Otome games helped me realize that even though I have had some absolutely horrid online dating experiences I need to continue to go out there and get out of my comfort zone. I cannot sit while the whole world keeps spinning.

To help with this I have started up some new hobbies. Such as Fridays I have a virtual table top, I am eating healthier, reading more and listening to podcasts to expand my knowledge. Some days aren’t perfect and that is okay. I am bigger then my relationship issues, I am bigger then anything my mental health throws at me because I know I am doing the best I can to control what I have the power to. Realizing that is a big part of being okay and these Otome games have helped with that.
